PERSEUS:

A smart cutting guide designed for a less invasive approach in every TKA

Accurate like a navigation system, PERSEUS reduces hospital costs.

PERSEUS is an intelligent cutting guide, powered by gyro sensors, that allows surgeon to perform perfectly aligned resections with less effort and morbidity, compared to conventional instrumentation for Knee Arthroplasty.

PERSEUS requires minimal equipment and operational set-up; thus reducing the costs of capital investment, sterilization, maintenance and software upgrades. Thanks to its design, PERSEUS enables to perform femoral and tibial cuts without using intramedullary rods, thus reducing the risks of a more invasive surgical approach and ensuring the optimal final limb alignment. With PERSEUS you can easily reach your goals also when instrumentation of the medullary canal would be extremely difficult or impossible.

What PERSEUS does

PERSEUS is designed for a less invasive approach in every Knee Arthroplasty.

PERSEUS is fundamental in all the cases where instrumentation of the medullary canal would be extremely difficult or impossible, such as:

Clinical Evidences

[1]

“ The main finding of this study was that blood loss was lower in patients who underwent TKA with the Perseus guide, compared with the conventional IM technique”

Bonanzinga T, Tanzi P, Pia Neri M, Iacono F, Mazzola C, Belluati A, Colombelli A, Zaffagnini S, Marcacci M.

[2]

“Perseus proved to be accurate, reliable, and surgeon-friendly. A valid alternative to achieve expected alignment in TKA. Further, it could be a useful tool to enhance the outcomes in low-volume centers. ”

Bonanzinga T, Giuffrida A, Di Matteo B, Raspugli GF, Iacono F, Marcacci M.

[3]

“This study demonstrates that Perseus is accurate for femoral component alignment in TKA and compares favorably to navigation systems and standard IM techniques. ”

Marcacci M, Andreoni G, Gagliardi M, Bruni D, Iacono F, Zaffagnini S

[4]

“Perseus used to perform distal femoral resection during primary TKA demonstrated a good intra- and inter-operator reliability.”

Marcheggiani Muccioli GM, Alesi D, Russo A, Lo Presti M, Sassoli I, La Verde M, Zaffagnini S.
